The Sidney Public Library offers a number of programs for children throughout the year.
Story Time: During the school year, the library offers Story Time for both toddlers and those children in preschool. Please come to the desk and sign up!
Story Time is offered: Wednesdays at 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. (ages 2-3) Thursdays at 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. (ages 4-5)
Book Bunch
Join the Book Bunch!
The Book Bunch welcomes children from K through 2nd grade. We meet the second Tuesday of each month from 4-5 p.m., beginning in October. Programs include a story, craft and game time and promotes the enjoyment of books and library time.
Middle Pages
Join the Middle Pages Book Club!
The Middle Pages Book club welcomes children from 3rd through 6th grade. We meet the fourth Tuesday of each month from 4-5 p.m., beginning in October. Programs include story and library related activities.

Children’s Collection
The library has a sizeable collection of children’s book, audio tapes, and movies available for checkout. Please stop in and browse, pick up a book or two, and help your child experience the wonder of reading!
Kids and the Internet
Parents are understandably concerned with Internet safety for their children. Here are a few family-friendly search engines:
Yahooligans: The children’s version of Yahoo, for kids ages 7 and up.
SurfNet Kids: This has a searchable database of topics including arts and crafts, history and holidays, science and social studies, archived by an online newspaper columnist.
Kids Click: A database of more than 6,400 helpful sites, compiled by librarians.
Awesome Library: An internet library database of more than 20,000 websites, reviewed to be current. |
